Founded in Calgary, Alberta by Registered Psychologist Cristina Kalas, Intrinsic Therapy is a locally rooted, human-centric therapy and counselling practice committed to evidence-based care. From individual counselling to trauma-informed, somatic, and neurodiversity-affirming therapy, our versatile team of psychologists, counsellors, and therapists helps adults navigate a wide variety of concerns such as anxiety, depression, grief, relationship challenges, workplace stress, and self-esteem, to name a few. We cultivate an intentionally inclusive culture—welcoming asexual, queer, trans, non-binary, Black, Indigenous, racialized, and differently-abled community members, as well as anyone affected by systemic oppression or gender-based violence—so every client can explore growth in a space of safety and belonging. Our Team


Our team provides truly individualized care rooted in somatic, relational, and trauma-informed principles. Each clinician brings extensive training in evidence-based modalities so we can attune therapy to your unique nervous-system cues, life history, and cultural context.

Alongside ongoing counselling, we also offer in-depth adult psychological assessments to clarify concerns like ADHD, anxiety and mood disorders, trauma-related symptoms, personality patterns, and learning or cognitive differences. Assessment findings are woven directly into your treatment plan, giving you a clear roadmap for growth and self-advocacy.
